Acacia Fiber๐ Recommends
โฆlow FODMAP prebiotic fiber option for sensitive digestive systems

on The Dr. Josh Axe Show
Alligic Acid / Urolithin A Supplements๐ Recommends
โฆpolyphenol supplement from pomegranates supporting mitochondrial cleanup
โNow, the first compound found in some supplements is choline alligate in urolithin A. Now, I like choline alligate even better than urolithin A. Okay? You've probably heard of urolithin A if you are into the longevity space. It's good. It's what's converted in the gut.โ
on The Dr. Josh Axe Show

Aloe Vera๐ Recommends
โฆhealing herb for coating and soothing damaged gut mucosal lining
โNumber six here is aloe vera. Just like aloe vera helps heal a burn on your skin, it helps heal ulcers, and it helps heal damage in your digestive lining. Aloe is almost mucosy itself. It actually helps cover and coat and heal the mucosal layer of the gut.โ
on The Dr. Josh Axe Show

Alpha Lipoic Acid๐ Recommends
โฆantioxidant supplement for blood sugar and metabolic support
โAnd I tend to stack them with, um, with, with some of the more modern, uh, minerals or vitamins that are found in more supplements like a chromium and an alpha lipoic acid. Yeah.โ
on The Dylan Gemelli Podcast

Alpha Lipoic Acid๐ Recommends
โฆrecommending alpha-lipoic acid supplement for reducing oxidative stress on liver
โThere's also another protective compound along with glutathione I really like called alpha-lipoic acid. You can take around 300 to 600 milligrams of that. This helps reduce oxidative stress on the liver as well.โ
on The Dr. Josh Axe Show

And David Perceived He Was King๐ Recommends
โฆrecommending a book about building strong identity based on King David's life
โThere's a book I love on identity that really dives into this, and it's called, And David Perceived He Was King by Dale Mast. And this is a book I've read multiple times as part of different growth groups and leadership groups I've been a part of. And I really like the book because it really helps set in a strong identity.โ
on The Dr. Josh Axe Show

Apple Pectin๐ Recommends
โฆrecommending pectin as gentle binder for long-term detoxification
โInstead doing things like spirulina and chlorella, apple or citrus pectin, zeolites, humic and fulvic acid, these are much better for long-term use. In fact, what I personally do is I do a probiotic that's very high, oftentimes in humic acid and higher in probiotics. And I think that's also great. These will bind to things in your gut and help you detoxify. So doing those gentle binders, again, like chlorella, like pectin, like humic acid and probiotics, those are really great options.โ
on The Dr. Josh Axe Show

Ashwagandha๐ Recommends
โฆherbs for boosting body warmth and anabolic function in hypothyroidism
โHerbs like ashwagandha. Yeah. Rhodiola rosea. Those are amazing for that. What are the best foods? Well, one, people, I see this all the time, people with thyroid. They're eating a lot of salads and doing a lot of cold smoothies. Those are cooling. We need to warm the body. You need to be doing soups and red meat and things to build up, become more anabolic.โ
on The Dylan Gemelli Podcast

Ashwagandha๐ Recommends
โฆrecommending ashwagandha as adaptogen for cortisol reduction
โNext up, now this is my other favorite outside of magnesium glycinate, and it is ashwagandha. Typically, I recommend a dosage of around 600 milligrams to 900 milligrams daily. This can reduce cortisol levels by up to 30% in chronically stressed individuals. By the way, there are so many fantastic studies showing ashwagandha brings cortisol back into balance.โ
on The Dr. Josh Axe Show

Ashwagandha๐ Recommends
โฆherbal supplements that lower cortisol and improve sleep
โApigenin, which is found in chamomile tea, that can support sleep long-term. Ashwagandha and reishi mushrooms, those lower cortisol levels long-term, which can help improve sleep.โ
on The Dr. Josh Axe Show
Athletic Greens๐ Not a fan
โฆsuperfood powder compared to other nutrition supplements
โYou know, there was a study that came out on, uh, athletic greens being essentially non-beneficial. Yeah. And, um, and you know, what they're putting in there is they're putting in a few synthetic vitamins and minerals, a little bit of, uh, you know, greens powders and apple powder. And that's what's in there. And so, yeah, it's not going to be a big needle mover for people. Listen, I don't think it's harmful. Right. But, but it's, it's, it's, it's probably one of the lower grade superfood powders on the market. I'll give it a, I don't know, a D rate. It's not harmful. So let's give it a C minus. Right.โ
on The Dylan Gemelli Podcast

Atomic Habits๐ Recommends
โฆexplaining how to reduce friction for good habits and increase friction for bad ones
โNumber four, create friction for the bad habits. This is something James Clear talks about in his book, Atomic Habits. He says, listen, reduce friction. If in the mornings you feel, and by the way, I've felt this sometimes, there's all these things you have to do before you get to the gym.โ

on The Dr. Josh Axe Show

Awaken the Giant Within๐ฌ Mentioned
โฆreferencing Tony Robbins' book about motivation and creating habits through pain and pleasure
โThis is something Tony Robbins talks about. I remember reading his book many years ago. The book was called Awaken the Giant Within. He said, listen, if you want to take action, if you want to create healthy habits, if you want to motivate anybody, people are motivated by two things. Pain and pleasure.โ
on The Dr. Josh Axe Show
BPC-157๐ Recommends
โฆdiscussing peptide therapies for healing gut inflammation
โOne other thing I wanted to ask you about is peptides. I actually did want to throw this one out there. One other thing, and we practice very similarly a lot of what we do, we started using BPC-157 even orally and seeing some good results just the past year with gut inflammation.โ
on The Dr. Josh Axe Show

Beetroot Juice Powder๐ Recommends
โฆsuperfood supplement for nitric oxide and cardiovascular health
โAnd so, yeah, it's not going to be a big needle mover for people. Listen, I don't think it's harmful. Right. But, but it's, it's, it's, it's probably one of the lower grade superfood powders on the market. I'll give it a, I don't know, a D rate. It's not harmful. So let's give it a C minus. Right. And, but there are so many others that are better. Like the one that I take now, it's really high in beetroot juice powder, which I think beetroot juice powder is fantastic for increasing nitric oxide. Right. Great for heart health. Great for energy. Great for building blood. So many things.โ
on The Dylan Gemelli Podcast

Being There: Why Prioritizing Motherhood in the First Three Years Matters๐ Recommends
โฆdiscussing erica komisar's published books on parenting and mental health
โBeing There, Why Prioritizing Motherhood in the First Three Years Matters, and Chicken Little, The Sky Isn't Falling, Raising Resilient Adolescents in the New Age of Anxiety. Very creative titles, but very effective. You know, that sounds like a psychoanalyst wrote the book. But Erica Comisar, you can find it, again, bookstores nationwide, amazon.com as well.โ
on The Dr. Josh Axe Show

Berberine๐ Recommends
โฆherbal compound for blood sugar stabilization and diabetes management
โAnytime I work with anybody, I am prescribing and recommending herbs. As medicine, you know, so if I have somebody come in with, um, diabetes, I'll look and say, okay, well, what do we, we need to stabilize blood sugar. So I'll recommend a bayberry leaf, which is where berberine comes from. Right. So we'll do berberine. We'll do gymnosah. We'll do bitter melon. And then, so I'll do those. And I tend to stack them with, um, with, with some of the more modern, uh, minerals or vitamins.โ
on The Dylan Gemelli Podcast

Berberine๐ Recommends
โฆherb for treating H. pylori and other chronic gut infections
โYou may want to take oil of oregano for a couple weeks or anti-parasite herbs or anti-H pylori herbs like berberine. You may want to add those to the protocol and take them while you're doing it for anywhere from two weeks to four weeks.โ
on The Dr. Josh Axe Show
Berkey Filter๐ Recommends
โฆrecommending water filtration systems to reduce toxic chemical exposure
โDrink filtered water. This is a big one. Get a reverse osmosis filter or some sort of water filter. That's going to get rid of the heavy metals, the fluoride, the chlorine, the PFAs, these chemicals in your water supply. And you don't need a whole house filter. Just mostly your drinking water is the most important. It could be a Berkey filter. It could be reverse osmosis or Rohr filter. But get some sort of water filter to get rid of the chemicals.โ
on The Dr. Josh Axe Show

โHere's another one. Getting a water filter, a Berkey, a Roar, reverse osmosis, and just filtering your water.โ
on The Dr. Josh Axe Show

Berkey water filter๐ Recommends
โฆrecommending water filters to reduce microplastic consumption
โAnd then another big one is water, right? We know bottled water leaches a lot of plastic chemicals into water supply. So switch to stainless steel, switch to glass. Cardboard is probably a better option as well. If you're traveling around, stay away from the plastic. And I would say also getting a water filter, right? One of the most toxic things in your home is your water that's city water. And so getting a Berkey or Aurora or a reverse osmosis filter, a great idea.โ
on The Dr. Josh Axe Show

Bitter Melon๐ Recommends
โฆmedicinal plant for blood sugar stabilization in diabetes
โSo if I have somebody come in with, um, diabetes, I'll look and say, okay, well, what do we, we need to stabilize blood sugar. So I'll recommend a bayberry leaf, which is where berberine comes from. Right. So we'll do berberine. We'll do gymnosah. We'll do bitter melon.โ

โฆusing blue blocker glasses to reduce blue light before bed
โyou can put on blue blocker glasses. This is something I do. Pretty much I eat dinner and my blue blockers go on. Now, in addition, there are certain lights that we try and keep on in our house. And those lights, which tend to not be the cam lights in the ceiling, these are lamps.โ
on The Dr. Josh Axe Show
Blue Mountain Organics Pumpkin Seed Butter๐ Recommends
โฆspecific brand recommendation for sprouted pumpkin seed butter

on The Dr. Josh Axe Show

Bone Broth๐ Recommends
โฆfoundational food for healing leaky gut with amino acids
โNumber one here is bone broth. Bone broth works because it's high in glycine, proline, and hydroxyproline. It's literally what your gut is made up of. And so there's this ancient Chinese medicine principle that says like supports like. So if you eat a food or an organ, it supports that organ.โ
on The Dr. Josh Axe Show

Bone Broth Protein๐ Recommends
โฆprotein supplement with joint-supporting compounds
โActually, this, this is higher on the list for me, a protein powder that's where the base is, is bone broth. Really? Yeah. Yeah. And bone broth is very high in collagen. Yep. And also throw other protein powders in there if it's quality. Maybe it's a plant protein that comes from pumpkin seed or, or pea. I like that. I like animal based protein. So I would say I'm protein, getting more protein in your diet. Most of it should come from food. Yeah. But powders as well, especially a powder that's bone broth based. You're also getting something in there called glucosaminoglycans. If you're doing a protein powder that's bone broth based. Yeah. That includes glucosamine, chondroitin and hyaluronic acid. I like it. And, um, and so that's really, really fantastic as well.โ

โCilantro and chlorella. Now these are a really great pair because cilantro helps detoxify and chlorella binds to toxins. So these are even more powerful together.โ
on The Dr. Josh Axe Show

Chlorella๐ Recommends
โฆpatient detoxification protocol including spirulina and chlorella supplements
โWe did some N-acetylcysteins to support glutathione, and just put her on a really advanced detoxification protocol. After three months, her brain fog lifted, her resilience returned. Actually, she was able to get married, even have a baby, and her health was completely renewed. But she had been to 10 other doctors, both conventional and natural, and they weren't able to figure out what was going on. We did a combination of things. We did a little bit of blood work. I did something called a tongue diagnosis, and her looking at her patient history, and her body was toxic. One way I can tell this in Chinese medicine is if the color of somebody's tongue has an underlying bluish-purple color, that's called, in Chinese medicine, liver stagnation. It means the liver is really blocked and backed up. Now, from her history as well, she was dealing with chronic constipation. That's another big warning sign. And we also found that she had the MTHFR gene, and so we looked at that. And so I put her on a protocol, which included juicing some vegetables, doing a lot of fruits and vegetables, doing things like spirulina chlorella.โ
on The Dr. Josh Axe Show

And listen, this is critically important to take if you've ever taken a statin drug or you're on a statin drug. Because statin drugs wipe out your CoQ10 levels.โ

So I would say I'm protein, getting more protein in your diet.โ
on The Dylan Gemelli Podcast

Copper GHK Peptide๐ Recommends
โฆdiscovering emerging peptide therapy with anti-inflammatory and tissue-repair benefits
โOne that we are finding to be just absolutely insane is GHK copper. CU copper. Yeah, CU copper. You're right. What we found here is that most people use it for hair, skin, and nails, and that's it. But we're finding that it has so many more benefits than that with our autoimmune patient population. We're finding that it significantly decreases inflammatory cytokines, too. So not only does it help with hair, skin, and nails, but it helps calm down the autoimmune response rapidly.โ

on The Dr. Josh Axe Show
Hydrochloric Acid (HCl)๐ Recommends
โฆstomach acid supplement for improving digestive capacity

on The Dr. Josh Axe Show

Infrared Heating Pad๐ Recommends
โฆusing infrared heating pad before castor oil pack for liver detoxification protocol
โNow what I like to do before that though is I like to take an infrared heating pad and put that directly over that liver area warming it up for about 20 minutes or so and then I'll put the castor oil pack on for about 40 minutes so it's about an hour protocolโ
on The Dr. Josh Axe Show

Iodine๐ Recommends

on The Dr. Josh Axe Show

K2๐ Recommends
โฆvitamin K2 for mineral absorption and cardiovascular health
โAnd then I would say some B vitamins. If somebody knows they have MTHFR, taking a methylated B complex would be good. Uh, but ranking order, I would say, you know, taking a magnesium D combo, K2, because they support absorption of each other. That's going to be very high on the list. A probiotic. Yeah.โ
on The Dylan Gemelli Podcast

L-Glutamine๐ Recommends

โL-glutamine is amino acid that your body needs in order to repair your gut lining. It's number one, five grams twice a day.โ
on The Dr. Josh Axe Show

L-Theanine๐ Recommends
โฆL-theanine supplement for calming without sedation
โNow another amino acid that I love that helps calm the brain activity without sedation is L-theanine. Theanine is found in small to moderate amounts in things like matcha green tea. This is why when you drink things like green tea, you got a little bit of an energy lift, but it also has a level of calmness with it. That's because of the theanine that's found in things like matcha. But theanine is great around 200 milligrams before bed or just after dinner.โ

Where she's the living example of that for me... if I was on a desert island and I could only have a couple things dropped in. Yeah. One is liposomal glutathione. The other one is phosphatidylcholine.โ
on The Dr. Josh Axe Show

Magnesium๐ Recommends
โฆmineral supplement essential for cellular energy and mitochondrial function
โMagnesium, by the way, as well, is really important for cellular energy. And then PQQ is another one. Listen, you don't have to take a million supplements. There's oftentimes supplements that have a combination of these. But these are the biggest needle movers for most people when it comes to boosting mitochondrial function.โ
on The Dr. Josh Axe Show

Magnesium๐ Recommends
โฆmineral supplement for heart health and cellular function
โAlong with vitamin D as a single nutrient, magnesium is going to be really high up there. It's so important for so many cellular functions. It's really important for relaxing those heart, you know, the vascular heart, uh, uh, for mitochondria. We mentioned mitochondria, um, for people with immune issues, zinc is really big and important. Those are some of the most important. I just wanted to call out. And then selenium for thyroid, for autoimmune. That's really critical as well.โ
on The Dylan Gemelli Podcast

Magnesium Glycinate๐ Recommends
โฆrecommending magnesium glycinate for sleep and bowel movement support

on The Dr. Josh Axe Show

Magnesium Glycinate๐ Recommends
โฆrecommending top supplements for lowering cortisol levels
โAnd so my first and most recommended supplement for lowering cortisol is magnesium glycinate. This is a combination of the mineral that supports the greatest levels of relaxation of your body and the amino acid that supports the greatest levels of relaxation by your body, which is glycine. Right? When you combine them, it has so many benefits for relaxation. Brain health, sleep, lowering cortisol and stress. You want to take around 300 to 400 milligrams of magnesium glycinate a day.โ
on The Dr. Josh Axe Show

Magnesium Glycinate๐ Recommends

โAnd so sleep, I'll do things like glycine, magnesium glycinate, and phosphatidylserine.โ
on The Dr. Josh Axe Show

Magnesium Glycinate๐ Recommends
โฆrecommending magnesium glycinate supplement for sleep
โMy favorite, magnesium glycinate. Okay, magnesium threonate is also beneficial and so is a multi-cheleted form of magnesium that's more food-based. But the most clinical studies are around magnesium glycinate because it's magnesium. We talked about glycine earlier, right? That's found in bone broth. But magnesium attached to glycine amino acid is great for sleep. You typically want to take this around 20 to 30 minutes before you go to sleep at night.โ

Manuka Honey๐ Recommends
โฆusing manuka honey and tallow for scar healing and tissue repair
โBut to help the scar heal, I did at first, it was like Manuka honey with calendula and lavender and helichrysum and those sort of things. And then as soon as it sealed up, I went really heavy on basically, I did tallow and Manuka and kept essential oils on there.โ
on The Dr. Josh Axe Show

Manuka Honey๐ Recommends
โฆantimicrobial sweetener for killing candida and acting as prebiotic
โNumber seven is raw manuka honey. Manuka honey contains MGO, a compound that kills candida and bad microorganisms. It's the number one sweetener you should be using if you have any type of leaky gut. So manuka honey is amazing. It also acts as a prebiotic.โ
on The Dr. Josh Axe Show

Manukora Manuka Honey๐ Recommends
โฆdiscussing the best sweetener options for gut microbiome health
โAre artificial sweeteners bad for your gut? I mean, some are, you know, some studies show that saccharin and sucralose appear to change your gut microbiome so they don't get a free pass. I would say you're better off doing honey. By the way, honey and Manuka honey specifically is probably the best form of carbohydrate for balancing out your gut microbiome. So if you're going to use a sweetener, honey should be your number one sweetener.โ
on The Dr. Josh Axe Show

Margin๐ Recommends
โฆrecommending books for creating space and managing priorities for better health
โThe second book is called Margin. It's by Dr. Richard Swenson. And it's the prescription for sustainable living and creating a space for health and joy. A lot of times we're so packed out, we are not creating space for joy and happiness and deep connection. And so this book helps you re-evaluate your priorities, determine the values in your life, and also see where your identity truly comes from.โ
on The Dr. Josh Axe Show

Marshmallow Root๐ Recommends
โฆherbal supplement for soothing gut inflammation and sealing leaky gut
โLicorice root, slippery elm, marshmallow root. This helps soothe your mucosal lining of your gut, healing and sealing up leaky gut.โ
on The Dr. Josh Axe Show

Melatonin๐ Not a fan
โฆdiscussing melatonin safety concerns and mortality risks
โMelatonin. There are new studies recently released on melatonin and that it may actually increase your mortality. Now, let me share why that is. I don't think it's from the melatonin itself. I think it's a signal that people that don't sleep well tend to take more melatonin. And so the side effect is not from melatonin. The side effect is if you don't sleep well, it will take years off your life, sometimes 10 to 20 years.โ
on The Dr. Josh Axe Show
Methylated B Complex๐ Recommends
โฆB vitamin complex for MTHFR and methylation support
โAnd then I would say some B vitamins. If somebody knows they have MTHFR, taking a methylated B complex would be good. Uh, but ranking order, I would say, you know, taking a magnesium D combo, K2, because they support absorption of each other.โ
on The Dylan Gemelli Podcast

โฆrecommending bitter herbs including milk thistle for bile flow and detoxification
โBitter herbs like milk thistle, dandelion, and artichoke. These stimulate bile flow, which is essential for, by the way, bile helps carry toxins out of the body and supports you in absorbing certain nutrients that support detoxification. So getting more bitter herbs regularly is a great thing.โ
on The Dr. Josh Axe Show

Milk Thistle Supplement๐ Recommends
โฆrecommending milk thistle as top supplement for liver detoxification
โThe first one here is really consuming the right herbals. Milk thistle is my favorite, typically around 200 to 400 milligrams a day. This helps actually protect liver cells. In fact, there's a great study on people that have gone through chemotherapy and radiation treatments and milk thistle supporting liver regeneration and protecting the liver while going through those treatments.โ
on The Dr. Josh Axe Show

Modified Citrus Pectin๐ Recommends

on The Dr. Josh Axe Show

Modified Citrus Pectin๐ Recommends
โฆnatural binder for detoxification and microplastic removal
โSpecific types of fiber like modified citrus pectin. This is often used as well in cancer protocols, major benefits because it will detox and bind and pull things out of your body while not causing constipation. on The Dr. Josh Axe Show

N-Acetylcysteine (NAC)๐ Recommends
โฆrecommending NAC as key supplement for glutathione production and liver detoxification
โNumber two, N-acetylcysteine. One of those key amino acids needed for liver function, we talked about glycine earlier, but cysteine is really important for liver function and N-acetylcysteine is a key precursor to glutathione, which again, as I talked about, it's the liver's most important internal antioxidant and detoxification compound. So making sure you're getting, and I would say you want to be doing at least 600 milligrams daily.โ
on The Dr. Josh Axe Show

N-acetylcysteine๐ Recommends
โฆrecommending NAC supplement to support liver detoxification and glutathione production
โSupplementing with liposomal glutathione or NAC, that's N-acetylcysteine, protects the liver and supports your detoxification pathways. Supplementing with things like glutathione or N-acetylcysteine. Now, glutathione is your body's master antioxidant that supports detoxification. And N-acetylcysteine is the precursor which helps your body make more glutathione.โ
on The Dr. Josh Axe Show

NAC (N-Acetyl Cysteine)๐ Recommends
โฆtop supplement for supporting glutathione and microplastic detoxification
โAnd this is where taking the precursor to glutathione, N-acetylcysteine, N-A-C, is fantastic. You can do 600 to 900 milligrams, two to three times daily. Sulfurane from broccoli sprouts are just eating sprouts. Major benefits, you know, the sprouts that you put in sandwiches or on a salad.โ

on The Dr. Josh Axe Show

Natto kinase supplement๐ Recommends
โฆusing natto kinase for breaking down spike proteins and cardiovascular support
โI'm a huge fan of natto kinase for this probably my single favorite of course medicine but yeah natto and natto kinase is an amazing thing and I love combining that with turmeric and ginger together as a combination but I think the more you can break down and support and this is where also if you think about things that are proteolytic enzymes I mean natto kinase acts as a proteolytic enzyme but you also have bromelain and papion and a lot of these enzymes that are found in different tropical fruits like kiwi which has actinidin or we talked about bromelain from pineapple that's where I really like doing those combinations and higher doses for treating you know long COVIDโ
on The Dr. Josh Axe Show
Neuropod๐ Recommends
โฆneurofeedback device for supporting vagal tone and nervous system health
โAnd a lot of us, me included, I end up using technology to help me refine that state again. So there are nerve feedback devices. There's vagus nerve stimulators. If you're in a time of your life where you have little kids and you don't get that, you can't even find the five minutes to do much more than use a neurofeedback device or a vagus nerve stimulator. It can help. I started using a neuropod recently.โ

โAnd so gargling, humming, there's a machine called an alpha stim, which you can clip to your ears. Yeah. I've got one, I think it's called NeuroPod. Oh yeah, the NeuroPod. And I've been using that and it's... I love the NeuroPod for sure. That's a great one. on The Dr. Josh Axe Show

Oura Ring๐ Recommends
โฆusing wearable technology to track sleep and heart rate variability
โYou know, I wear an aura ring oftentimes and so I'm tracking my sleep every day to say, you know, where is my HRV? Where is my sleep? Doing everything I can to get good sleep.โ
on The Dr. Josh Axe Show

Oura Ring๐ Recommends
โฆtracking sleep quality and heart rate variability for health optimization
โYou know, I wear an Oura ring at night. And honestly, it's one of my favorite tests I've ever done, if not my favorite, because it's also testing something called HRV, heart rate variability, which is a really great indicator for longevity, stress, and how healthy I am in that moment. And part of that is my sleep score. But I look at this regularly because I know that sleep is one of the single greatest factors for longevity and healing.โ
on The Dr. Josh Axe Show

Oura Ring๐ Recommends
โฆdiscussing wearable technology for health tracking and biometrics
โYou know the other thing I'm excited about? I tend to wear a, I like Aura ring. Um, I'm wondering if they can get to the point where, or if like a CGM like monitor where you are looking at cortisol, not just insulin, like looking at some of the other.โ

They're also found in fatty fish, especially wild-caught salmon. And they're also found in caviar. So phospholipids are these really unique type of fats that have longevity properties. But one of those phospholipids, phosphatidylserine, has been shown to help keep you asleep at night. So taking around 200 to 300 milligrams is phosphatidylserine and around 3,000 to 4,000 milligrams of glycine, an amazing combo for helping you sleep at night.โ
on The Dr. Josh Axe Show

Phosphatidylserine๐ Recommends
โฆrecommending phosphatidylserine for better sleep and cortisol management
โHere's another one I really like, phospholipids. Now, it helps you get better sleep at night. If you're a person that wakes up around 2 or 3 a.m. in the morning and that's you, that tends to mean that your cortisol is getting high around that time, okay? One of the supplements that can help dampen and calm that effect is called phosphatidylserine. Okay, you might've heard of phosphatidylcholine. I saw an article recently, a clinical study that went through, I mean, pomegranates and pomegranate juice. You know, I don't drink fruit juice unless I'm working. So that's what I try and do. I try and drink. If I'm going to do fruit juice, I do it around the time I'm working out.โ
on The Dr. Josh Axe Show

Probiotic๐ Recommends
โฆgut health supplement for nutrient absorption and immunity
โA probiotic. Yeah. Is probably going to be my number two supplement because so many people have taken antibiotics in the past. So many people have poor absorption. There was a study out of Stanford that said, if you take a probiotic supplement, a good one, you are increasing your absorption of B vitamins by double. Really? That's huge. Think about it. You double your absorption of nutrients by taking a probiotic.โ

on The Dr. Josh Axe Show

Saffron๐ Recommends
โฆrecommending saffron as natural antidepressant and anti-anxiety herb
โSaffron, which is one of my favorite herbs, it's referenced in the Bible. It's famed in Ayurvedic medicine. Saffron is probably the most effective herb to act as a natural antidepressant and natural anti-anxiety supplement. Okay? Typically, it's around 88 milligrams per day is one of the best. on The Dylan Gemelli Podcast

Selenium๐ Recommends
โฆmineral supplement for thyroid and autoimmune health
โAnd then selenium for thyroid, for autoimmune. That's really critical as well. But I would say those are as singles. Those are, those are in my top of my head, the most important. And then I would say some B vitamins. If somebody knows they have MTHFR, taking a methylated B complex would be good.โ
on The Dylan Gemelli Podcast

Selenium๐ Recommends
โฆselenium as primary nutrient for supporting thyroid health in Hashimoto's
โSo I treat a lot of women with hypothyroidism and Hashimoto's. And, you know, there's a lot of what I see is probably the number one nutrient that I see really moves the needle.
