Lloyd Blankfein is an American billionaire investment banker best known for serving as CEO and chairman of Goldman Sachs from 2006 to 2018, leading the firm through the 2008 financial crisis. He began his career in law before joining commodities trader J. Aron & Co., which became part of Goldman Sachs, and rising through its currency and commodities divisions. Blankfein is currently the senior chairman of Goldman Sachs.
