Alex Marson, MD, PhD, is an infectious disease physician and scientist specializing in genomic immunology and CRISPR-based genome engineering of human immune cells. He is a Senior Investigator at Gladstone Institutes and Connie and Bob Lurie Director of the Gladstone-UCSF Institute of Genomic Immunology, as well as a professor of medicine and microbiology & immunology at the University of California, San Francisco. His work focuses on genetically reprogramming T cells and other immune cells to create “living medicines” to treat cancer, autoimmune, and infectious diseases.
